Reflect & Refresh - Part 2

Where in the world is this summer going!? I feel like I just posted part 1 for this link up! Thankfully, I don't go back till early September, but I know it will be here before I know it!

Next year, I'm moving from 1st grade to 5th grade. (don't worry - I've taught 5th grade before) So many people worry when I tell them about this! I know how big of a jump it is!

Communication - I plan to continue my weekly emails and using the app, Remind. However, something that I'm really pondering and looking into is having class social media accounts. I would love to get the upper grades into something like this because I know it's definitely right up their alley! If anyone has advice on how to present this to parents or something that works well for them, please leave me some love in the comments!

Content - This year, I will only be teaching reading, writing, and social studies. I am still in the middle of looking at exact content, but will definitely keep you posted as I go!

Organization - Again, I'm still kind of figuring this out as I'm moving grades and trying new things. Not being back in the room yet, also limits me to sharing with you some of what I'm thinking, because I'd love to show you pictures! (stay tuned for a classroom reveal) I am going to a Responsive Classroom training for upper grades at the end of the month, so that will guide me more too. One thing I am doing for sure is turning my desks around! I DO NOT want my students having stuff in desks. Having two classes, it just doesn't make sense to me.

My big summer project - Guys. Let's be honest. I feel like I did so many different things, that I don't even know where to start. I worked on a little bit of everything! I did get my Work on Writing for Big Kids done.

Wishing you all a wonderful start to your school year! Remember... take time for YOU!
