Currently (JULY)

Hi, all! This is my first time linking up for Oh' Boy 4th Grade's, "Currently" linky! I can't wait to check everyone's out and see what you all are up to!

Today was quite the day. You see, I'm currently listening to silence because it's 11:00pm and I had a LONG, but awesome day!

Around 2:00, I got the idea to walk to downtown Chicago and start my Vegas clothes shopping. I text Krista, (who agreed to walk with me) and away we went! Well, now over about 7 miles later, I. Am. Spent. However, we got some really great clothes for Vegas! With that being said, I should really be getting to bed.

I think I'm an ALL STAR listener. I know how much I appreciate when my friends listen to me, so I try to do the same in return!

I hope you have a wonderful rest of your week!

Weekend Warriors

Happy Sunday, my friends!

I'm feeling SO productive this morning! I've already gone for a walk by the lake, had my coffee, creating this blog, and  getting ready for church! WOW!

I'm excited to team up with some bloggers for this week's Weekend Warriors! You will get to learn  little more about me. Check it out!

TPT Seller Challenge - Dare to Dream

Hey, everyone!

It's another week of the TPT Seller Challenge! I am still working, so it took me a little bit of time to get this one together. I only have one more day and then it is SUMMERTIME!

This week's theme is, "Dare to Dream."

When I entered the TPT/blog world about 2 years ago, I didn't really know what to expect or where I would go. It took me about a year to get started. Recently, I've really figured out my style, ideas, and where I am headed with this journey. When I first started out, I blogged with the talented Marie, Once Upon a Classroom: The Teacher's Tales. Over the last 6 months, I encountered some changes in my life, and realized it was time for me to move forward with a DREAM of mine to create a new blog all about balance. And here I am now.

My dreams are big, but I believe any of us can get there. Check them out...

I would absolutely love to become an instructional or reading coach. This is what I received my Masters in just over a year ago. I don't think I'm ready to leave the classroom quite yet, but when I am, I would love to help other teachers!

In the big scheme of things, I feel like all of us would love to stay home and just blog or work on TPT, am I right? Currently, I'm loving what I'm doing, but this could be pretty awesome. They said dream big!

Finally, I'm slowly coming up with ideas for this blog, but I really hope I inspire each and every one of you to find balance. I know as teachers we have a ton on our plates, but make time for YOU!!! It's so important. Try new things! Don't say, "I would never..." DREAM BIG!

Have a wonderful day, everyone!

Five for Friday

Two weeks in a row, people!?! I love this link up because it is a fun way to reflect on your week and what is going on. In fact, I think it helps you find balance when you do take time to reflect. Check out what is going on in my world...

Today is my last day of school with kids! We go much later than everyone, but don't start back till September. I have had a really great year with my students and going to miss their sweet faces. However, I'm so excited about my upcoming change! I took this picture the other day as I was finalizing grades. Slowly starting to pack up my room!

This week, my students participated in Camp Read-a-Lot! They LOVED it! This is a great way to make reading workshop fun at the end of the year. I built it into their schedule, and they could complete their read to self in the tents. Talk about exciting! If you have never tried this before, definitely check it out on Teachers Pay Teachers. There are so many fun activities!

One of the things that I do to find balance is exercise. I try to work out everyday, but clearly sometimes I get busy. This is a great way for me to clear my mind and have some ME time. Since the weather is starting to get nice, I like to go to the lake front and walk. (No more running for me!) This is a TERRIBLE picture of me because I couldn't see anything, but I took it for my accountability group that I run on Facebook. We have Saturday Selfies of our work outs!

Have you heard of Joyce Meyer Ministries? I love her books, Facebook page, messages, you name it! She posted this recently and I appreciated it greatly. Again, it goes with the idea of balance: you need to find time to rest and take care of yourself. I hope you find a lot of peace in this verse!

I have a really exciting summer series that is going to launch on July 1st. I'll give you a hint: it has something to do with Chicago. Any ideas?

Have a wonderful week, everyone!

Makeover Madness!

Welcome to the #tptsellerchallenge WEEK 1!

I am beyond excited to be a part of this challenge with some of my favorite people ever! When I heard about it, I thought it was a great collaborative idea.

For my Makeover Madness, I decided to makeover my language dice games. It didn't have a cover page, recording sheets, etc. It needed a major facelift! I worked on this ALL day and got it done! The next step will be to sell them separately. This is the bundle of all of the games, however, right now you can buy them on their own. I will get to that soon!

Enjoy this product right now for half off!

Five for Friday (and maybe a little giveaway)

Hey, everyone! I'm so excited to link up with Doodle Bugs Teaching for Five for Friday! The last time I participated in this was on my old blog! I'm excited to share with you my first Five for Friday as The Balanced Teacher!

It's my BIRTHDAY! I have never been a huge fan of birthdays, but ready to celebrate a new year. I am ready for all the new things that are going to be coming my way! To celebrate my birthday, leave a comment below and I'll choose three people to select a product from my store. Here's to 33 being FABULOUS!!

Summer is coming and I have a TON of work to do. When I took the fifth grade literacy position, I knew I would have a lot of creation ahead of me. Along with that comes teacher reading. :) This is just the START of my stack that has arrived. I'm trying to figure out how I want to structure workshop, integrate social studies, and ensure that I'm reaching the needs of all my students. Wish me luck and any suggestions are welcome!

This product is ALMOST done!! I have taken the 5th, 6th, and 7th grade writing CCSS and created a work on writing document for upper grades. My current firsties love work on writing. This time of workshop allows them to choose prompts, and apply what they have learned in mini lessons to their own creations. As soon as I have these edited, I will be posting. Stay tuned!

If you are interested, follow Proverbs 31 Ministries on Facebook. They provide me with daily inspirational quotes and prayers. I saw this one last week and knew I needed to share. I hope you can find some sort of meaning behind it for whatever season you are in. I know it helped me a lot!

I. Am. So. Excited. For. Vegas.

That's it. :)

Happy Summer, everyone!

Tell All Tuesday

Hey, everyone! I'm thrilled to link up for "Tell All Tuesday!" Thanks to Teach Talk Inspire and My Day in K for creating a fun summer linky!

Let's play a game of "Two Truths and a Lie!" Leave a comment below to guess which two are true and the statement that is false. I can't wait to hear what you think!

1. I am about to complete my 10th year of teaching.
2. My favorite sport to play is golf.
3. I have a sister and a brother.

Don't forget to check out everyone's blog posts. This is a fun one!

Reflect and Refresh - Part 1: Looking Back

Hey, all! I'm so excited to team up with some great teachers to bring to you an End of the Year link up!

This year was wonderful! However, big changes are about to occur! I'm moving from 1st grade to... 5th grade LITERACY! I'm over the moon excited because my Masters is in literacy, and to think that this is what I get to teach all day long, is thrilling for me. I will integrate writing and social studies, too. There is so much to think about this summer, and needless to say, I'll be busy creating!

Looking back, this class was full of thirty six/seven year olds, who came to school everyday so excited to learn. I had a really great year with them. Check out my reflection from the year:

21 Day Fix and meals

Hey, everyone!

I have been a BeachBody coach for almost a year now! I really love their programs, especially the 21 Day Fix (regular and extreme). I plan on starting the fix again this Monday and wanted to share with you some simple meals that I have used just in the last two weeks. I definitely plan on repeating these as I create my meal plan!

For lunch one week, I made something super easy.  I don't know how you all feel about this, but I had the same thing for lunch every day. I prepped them Sunday night, that way I could quickly grab them before work. At lunch, I heated up for 30 sec and voila! Now, I forgot meat at the store, so these are just a whole wheat English muffin, marinara, and mozzarella cheese. You could definitely add anything to them.

Next, one night for dinner, I had some friends over and made crock pot chicken tacos. They are SUPER easy! All you do is take a jar of salsa and add chicken. Cook them throughout the day until the chicken is able to be shredded. Add all your favorite toppings and you're done!

If anyone is interested in ordering the 21 Day Fix, it's on sale this month for $140. I'd be happy to help you get started! I have a fun accountability group on Facebook, where we cheer one another on as we go through the process.

Head over to my Pinterest board for some of my favorite recipes!

Home Office Space

Can you believe it is already June? Where in the world did this year go?

I'm thrilled to link up with Schroeder Shenanigans in 2nd and Lucky Little Learners for their #2getherwearebetter link up about home office space!

This one kind of bums me out because I just moved and don't have the space I used to. (gotta love Chicago livin') At my old house, I had a huge office space in it's own room! I could spread out and really get a ton done! However, I moved and had to downsize quite a bit. With that being said, I have two spaces that I work from: my computer desk and kitchen table...

Where does your home work space look like? We would love to have you link up!
